It's funny what a little monitor that makes a sound like a small train can do to someone. Today Amy and I had our second appointment with the OB/GYN and we were able to hear the heartbeat of our little baby. It was such a moving experience to hear that little heart just beating away. Every time we have an appointment or visit with someone regarding the pregnancy it becomes a little more real, and even though we are still a little nervous and have our fears, experiences like today give me comfort and bring a lot of extra excitement and enthusiasm.
The doctor says that everything is progressing fine and that we are right on track! We thank the Lord for watching over us and helping us everyday move one step closer to parenthood.

4 DAYS OF FUN AND ADVENTURE
This last week Amy and I were able to have my sister's kids stay with us for a few days. We had lots of fun going swimming, bowling, playing at the park, doing art projects and taking care of the fish! We enjoyed having the kids stay with us, although we are mentally exhausted and happy to have some good ole' peace and quiet around the house now that they are back with Mom and Dad :)
One of the highlights of the week was taking the kids bowling. We all had a good time dancing to the music and laughing at each others dancing. I think all the kids bowled a strike at least once.
We also enjoyed going to the Logan Aquatic Center, it was mine and Amy's first time. We took the kids down the waterslides and just enjoyed the cool, refreshing water on a hot day.
Amy did a wonderful job with all the kids while I went to work every night. She would do all kinds of art projects. Including one with shaving cream and food coloring. .
The fish are all doing well, which is good. When we went to Petsmart to ask a few questions they were surprised at the information we had been told by the Walmart employees and were pretty pestimistic about our fish surviving. We have now gotten out of the "danger zone" and the fish have adapted well to their new home!

THE FISH COME HOME
Today was the beginning of an exciting adventure together. The Barbs have come home and we are very excited to have entered the majestic world of fishkeeping. We have 5 beautiful Tiger Barbs... Shere Khan Barb, Bagheera Barb, Mufasa Barb, Tigger Barb and Tony The Tiger Barb. They are clearly adopted and we aren't going to change their last name becuase we don't want to confuse and shock them. We also are the proud fishkeepers of two lovely sucker fish: Ogo and Pogo. They are named after the legendary sea-monster in Ogopogo Lake, British Colombia, Canada. We hope they don't die!
In other exciting news, we are going to be the proud parents of a baby of the human variety here in just 6 short months. Amy and I are very excited to be parents and feel so blessed to have a new spirit in our home!
